Mint Oreo Truffles

Mint and chocolate has always been one of those combinations I can’t resist, and these Mint Oreo Truffles might be one of the easiest treats I’ve ever mastered. The first time I made them, I added way too much cream cheese and ended up with a bowl of minty mud that refused to roll into anything. Once I learned to blend just enough to hold everything together, these became a quick go-to dessert—creamy, cool, chocolatey, and dangerously addictive.

Ingredients

For the Truffles

  • 36 Mint Oreo cookies (one standard pack)
  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract (optional for stronger mint)

For the Coating

  • 2 cups white chocolate chips or almond bark
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
  • Crushed Oreos or green sprinkles for topping

Instructions

1. Crush the Oreos

Add the Mint Oreos to a food processor and blend until they become fine crumbs.
If you don’t have a processor, place them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.

2. Mix with Cream Cheese

Add the softened cream cheese to the crumbs and blend again until the mixture forms a smooth dough.
If you like a stronger mint flavor, add the peppermint extract here.

3. Roll the Truffles

Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions and roll into balls.
Place them on a parchment-lined tray.
Freeze for 20–25 minutes so they’re firm enough to dip without falling apart.

4. Melt the Coating

Melt the white chocolate and coconut oil in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring each time until smooth.
Avoid overheating—white chocolate scorches easily.

5. Dip and Decorate

Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork or dipping tool, letting excess drip off.
Place on parchment and top with crushed Oreos or green sprinkles.

6. Chill to Set

Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes until the coating is firm.

FAQs

Can I use regular Oreos instead of Mint Oreos?

Yes—just add ½ to 1 teaspoon peppermint extract to the mixture.

My mixture feels too soft to roll. What should I do?

Chill it for 10–15 minutes, or add 2–3 extra crushed Oreos to thicken it.

Can I use dark or milk chocolate for coating?

Absolutely! Dark chocolate gives a richer contrast to the creamy mint center.

Are these no-bake?

Yes—no oven required, just chilling.

Can I make them ahead for a party?

Definitely. Make up to 2 days ahead and keep refrigerated in a sealed container.

Can I reduce the sweetness?

Use dark chocolate for coating instead of white—it balances the sweetness beautifully.
