Sugar-Free Flavored Glaze

A light, glossy, and sugar-free glaze perfect for donuts, cakes, muffins, or pancakes. Quick to make and fully customizable, it adds sweetness and shine without spiking blood sugar.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Servings 12 Muffins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered erythritol or powdered monk fruit sweetener
  • 2 –3 tbsp liquid milk, almond milk, or water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or other extract/flavoring
  • Optional Flavorings:
  • 1 tsp lemon or orange juice for citrus glaze
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder for chocolate glaze
  • A few drops of almond or peppermint extract for variation

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine powdered sweetener and 2 tbsp liquid. Whisk until smooth. Add more liquid, 1 tsp at a time, if too thick.
  • Stir in vanilla extract or other chosen flavorings. Include juice and zest for citrus; sift cocoa powder for chocolate.
  • Adjust consistency: glaze should be pourable but thick enough to coat. Add sweetener if too thin or liquid if too thick.
  • Drizzle over cooled cakes, muffins, donuts, or cookies using a spoon or piping bag. For a thicker coating, apply a second layer after a few minutes.
  • Ensure baked goods are completely cool before glazing to prevent melting.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge up to 1 week.
Re-whisk before using as sugar-free sweeteners can separate or thicken.
Suitable for diabetics using low-glycemic sweeteners like erythritol, monk fruit, or allulose
