Sugar-Free Flavored Glaze
A light, glossy, and sugar-free glaze perfect for donuts, cakes, muffins, or pancakes. Quick to make and fully customizable, it adds sweetness and shine without spiking blood sugar.
- 1 cup powdered erythritol or powdered monk fruit sweetener
- 2 –3 tbsp liquid milk, almond milk, or water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or other extract/flavoring
- Optional Flavorings:
- 1 tsp lemon or orange juice for citrus glaze
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder for chocolate glaze
- A few drops of almond or peppermint extract for variation
In a small bowl, combine powdered sweetener and 2 tbsp liquid. Whisk until smooth. Add more liquid, 1 tsp at a time, if too thick.
Stir in vanilla extract or other chosen flavorings. Include juice and zest for citrus; sift cocoa powder for chocolate.
Adjust consistency: glaze should be pourable but thick enough to coat. Add sweetener if too thin or liquid if too thick.
Drizzle over cooled cakes, muffins, donuts, or cookies using a spoon or piping bag. For a thicker coating, apply a second layer after a few minutes.
Ensure baked goods are completely cool before glazing to prevent melting.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge up to 1 week.
Re-whisk before using as sugar-free sweeteners can separate or thicken.
Suitable for diabetics using low-glycemic sweeteners like erythritol, monk fruit, or allulose
