Preheat & Prep:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Cream Butter & Sugars:
In a large bowl, stir melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
Add Eggs & Vanilla:
Mix in the egg, then the egg yolk, followed by vanilla extract.
Combine:
Gradually stir in the dry ingredients. Don’t overmix—just until combined.
Add the Mix-Ins:
Fold in chocolate chips (and white chocolate + nuts if using).
Scoop & Bake:
Scoop dough into balls and place on baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
Sprinkle sea salt on top if desired.
Bake 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden. Centers may look soft.
Cool & Enjoy:
Let cookies sit on the baking sheet for 5 mins before transferring to a wire rack. Enjoy warm or cooled!
