Ingredients
  

  • For the Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • For the Geode Effect
  • ½ cup coarse sugar turbinado or sanding sugar
  • ¼ cup rock candy crushed into small chunks
  • Gel food coloring purple, blue, pink, or your choice
  • Edible glitter or shimmer dust

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Cookie Dough
  • Cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the egg and vanilla until smooth.
  • Gradually add flour, baking powder, and salt until dough forms.
  • Shape the Cookies
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll dough into 1.5-inch balls and flatten slightly.
  • Create the Geode Effect
  • Make a small indentation in the center of each cookie.
  • Place a few chunks of crushed rock candy inside.
  • Sprinkle coarse sugar and edible glitter around the candy.
  • Add gel food coloring drops and lightly blend with a toothpick to mimic crystal colors.
  • Bake
  • Bake 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  • The rock candy will partially melt, forming the crystalline center.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Optional Finishing Touches
  • Once cooled, brush lightly with edible shimmer dust to enhance sparkle.
