Crispy Air Fryer Apple Fries

Ingredients
  

  • For the Apple Fries:
  • 2 large apples Honeycrisp or Fuji work best
  • ½ cup almond flour or all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup sugar or monk fruit sweetener
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • Pinch of salt optional
  • Cooking spray
  • Optional Dips:
  • Warm Caramel Sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • Vanilla Yogurt Dip
  • ½ cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • ½ tsp cinnamon optional

Instructions
 

  • Prep the Apples:
  • Slice apples into thin matchstick-style strips. Peel if desired. Set aside.
  • Set Up Dredging Station:
  • In one bowl, beat the eggs.
  • In another bowl, mix almond flour, panko, cinnamon, sugar, and salt.
  • Coat the Apple Slices:
  • Dip each apple slice into the egg, then roll in the crumb mixture. Press lightly so it sticks.
  • Air Fry:
  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and spray basket lightly with oil.
  • Arrange apple fries in a single layer.
  • Cook for 6–8 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  • Make the Dips (optional):
  • Caramel Sauce: Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan. Stir in cream and salt. Simmer 1–2 minutes until thickened.
  • Yogurt Dip: Stir yogurt, maple syrup, and cinnamon in a bowl until smooth.
  • Serve:
  • Enjoy warm with your favorite dip. Best served immediately for peak crispiness.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double-coat the apple slices.
  • Work in batches to avoid overcrowding the air fryer.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for 1 day. Re-crisp in air fryer before serving.
