These truffles capture the fun of a margarita in a creamy chocolate bite—citrusy, slightly boozy, and perfectly indulgent. The key is adding the tequila slowly and chilling the filling well so it holds its shape every time.

Ingredients
  

  • For the Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange zest
  • 1 –2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 –2 tablespoons tequila adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon lime zest
  • Pinch of salt
  • For the Chocolate Coating
  • 2 cups white or milk chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil optional
  • Coarse sugar or lime zest for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Filling
  • Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, orange zest, lime zest, and salt. Mix until fully combined.
  • Add Liquids Gradually
  • Stir in orange juice and tequila slowly. The mixture should be creamy but firm enough to hold shape.
  • Chill the Mixture
  • Cover and refrigerate 1–2 hours until scoopable.
  • Shape the Truffles
  • Scoop portions with a cookie scoop or spoon. Roll into smooth balls and freeze 15–20 minutes to make dipping easier.
  • Melt the Chocolate
  • Melt chocolate and coconut oil in 20-second microwave intervals, stirring until smooth.
  • Dip and Decorate
  • Dip chilled truffles into chocolate. Tap off excess and place on parchment. Sprinkle with coarse sugar or lime zest while coating is soft.
  • Let Them Set
  • Refrigerate 10–15 minutes until chocolate is firm.
