Apple Dump Cake with Caramel

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cans 21 oz each apple pie filling
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box yellow cake mix about 15.25 oz
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ cup caramel sauce plus more for serving
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts pinch of cloves or ginger, flaky sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Spread apple pie filling evenly in the dish
  • Sprinkle cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla over apples and gently stir to distribute
  • Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the apple layer without mixing
  • Drizzle melted butter evenly over the cake mix
  • Spoon caramel sauce across the top and add nuts if using
  • Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbling
  • Let rest 10–15 minutes before serving

Notes

Spread butter evenly to avoid dry spots
Serve warm for best texture
Add a pinch of salt to balance sweetness
